Hi, I’m Megan!

I am the author and developer of The Balanced Bite where I share recipes that are macro-friendly to help busy individuals look and feel their best! A little bit of information to get to know me…

I am a mom to an energetic young son and loving wife to my husband, Nils. My love for health was born out of my first profession- Nursing. I am a Registered Nurse who deeply believes in the power of whole foods and meals that are not only nutritious but also balanced and fulfilling.

Why did I call this blog “The Balanced Bite?”

While I am a Nutrition Coach and a Nurse, I am also a busy mom and a fun-loving individual who has always been a “foodie”. If you know me, you know I enjoy traveling and engaging in new cultures and cuisines and I believe that food is so much more than fuel. We eat for enjoyment, connection, and cultural reasons.

I Created these Recipes to allow for a Balance between Memories AND Macros

I do believe you can reach your goals while engaging in all that life has to offer, including delicious food.

New to Macros?

Macronutrients or “macros” are the three main components that make up our food: Protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Together, these macronutrients make up our total daily calories. By eating certain amounts of each type of macronutrient we can alter our body composition, improve our health, and ultimately feel our best! You will notice that all of my meals are high protein… There is a reason for this! My goal was to make macros easy for you! All recipes have macronutrients included so that you can make informed choices that align with your goals! Each and every recipes is entered into myfitness pal to make tracking these recipes convenient for you!

These recipes were created for my family.

We live in a busy society and it is my hope that by being provided with these recipes you can eat in a way that helps you feel your best in every area of your life, while also taking the time to sit down and enjoy these recipes when possible with those you love.
